Millennium Point Towers–
Residence and Ritz Carlton

New York City

Gil-Bar is a pioneer, and remains the leader, in the application of sustainable technology to the design and operation of HVAC systems. That made us the obvious choice when Gotham and Lendlease began work on the Millennium Point Towers in Battery Park City, a planned development with far stricter “green building” codes than the rest of NYC at the time.

We started by working with ClimateMaster to develop the first R-410 residential heat pump, making this technology available roughly two years ahead of our competition. But acoustics were also a big issue for these high-end homes, so we partnered with Cerami & Associates to optimize the units for quiet operation. We met LEED standards with IEC fan coils, and were the first to market with custom return panels that met Ritz Carlton’s high architectural standards.

In the end, over 1000 ClimateMaster console and hi-rise heat pumps were incorporated into the project, which became a benchmark for sustainable residential construction in New York City.
